Captain Marvel, Protector of the Universe (VI.5): Ultimate Mahr Vehl vs Reed Richards (Ultimate Extinction, Ultimate Mystery & Ultimate Doom)

Está sección irá en orden cronológico aunque esta semana me los estoy saltando un poco para hablar de las adaptaciones de la batalla entre Mar-Vell y el centinela Kree. Una vez terminado eso, y antes de pasar a Genis-Vell pasaría a las versiones alternativas (Las de Tierra X, Universo X y Paraíso X y ninguna de las tres es nada porno, El imperativo de Thanos, el mangaverse, etc). Una de ellas es la del universo Ultimate, y como ya la he introducido hablando de Ultimate Secret creo que es mejor terminar con el personaje el mismo día ya que tampoco es que haya tenido muchas apariciones más.

This section will go in chronological order but this week I'm jumping a bit to talk about the adaptations of the battle between Mar-Vell and the Kree Sentry. Once I finish with Mar-Vell, and before moving to Genis-Vell, I talk about his alternative versions (Earth X, Universe X and Paradise X, The Thanos imperative, mangaverse, etc). One of them is the Ultimate universe, and as I have talked about Ultimate Secret I think it's better to end with the character the same day.

Justo después de Ultimate Secret Mahr Vehl sale como personaje secundario en Ultimate Extinction por Warren Ellis y Brandon Peterson. En fin, crossover en este caso con los tres principales grupos del universo Ultimate: X-men, Ultimates y Fantastic four. En fin, que al final consiguen crear la versión ultimate de un Nulificador supremo y disuadir a Gah Lak Tus de su ataque a la tierra (en este universo es un ente formado por una especie de enjambre de naves inteligentes que forman una especie de colmena). También se enfrentan a una de las versiones Ultimate de Silver Surfer (hay otra que sale en Ultimate Fantastic Four) y a unos cuantos clones de Dragón Lunar. Mahr Vehl asiste en cuestiones de tecnología y se enfrenta junto a Iron Man a un Silver Surfer y junto a Sam a los "Dragones Lunares".

Just after Ultimate Secret, Mahr Vehl comes as a minor character in Ultimate Extinction by Warren Ellis and Brandon Peterson. Finally,  this crossover has  the three main groups of the Ultimate Universe: X-Men, Ultimates and Fantastic four. So in the end they manage to create the ultimate version of a Nullifier and dissuade Gah Lak Tus attack on Earth (in this universe is an entity formed by a swarm of intelligent ships that form a kind of hive). They also face one of the Ultimate versions of the Silver Surfer (there is another in Ultimate Fantastic Four) and a few clones of Moondragon. Mahr Vehl assists in technology issues and fights with Iron Man a Silver Surfer and with Sam the "Moon Dragons". 

 Triología Ultimate Enemy-Mystery-Doom.-

En esta otra triología del universo Ultimate (las tres partes por B.M. Bendis y el español Rafa Sandoval). En estas tres partes más o menos Bendis se dedica a utilizar a los personajes que se han quedado sin su propio cómic (por Ultimatum, Fantastic Four), o que no se habían utilizado últimamente (Rick Jones, Spider-woman, Mahr Vehl, Fury, etc) y en la que Reed Richards se transforma en el nuevo super villano del universo Ultimate.

En principio voy a pasar directamente a Ultimate Mystery, aunque para resumir en Ultimate Enemy Reed Richards desaparece y son atacados por extraños extraterrestres. Además Ben Grimm le declara su amor a Sue y en la batalla se desprende de sus rocas, al parecer estaba en una especie de estado de "capullo" antes de desarrollar sus poderes, que basicamente son los mismos pero sin su aspecto rocoso.

En Ultimate Mystery Mahr Vehl es envíado a proteger el Proyecto Pegaso (las instalaciones donde Shield guarda todos los objetos extraterrestres o de origen mágico o indeterminado) donde se encuentra con Wendell Vaughn (Quasar en el 616). Poco después Rick Jones hace acto de presencia (aunque en este universo los Vigilantes le dieron poderes y se hace llamar Nova, aunque resulta llamativo ver a los antiguos compañeros de negabandas juntos en el universo Ultimate), los Vigilantes le dijeron que debía ir allí para evitar la destrucción. Mahr Vehl le dice que es oficial protector de la tierra para el colectivo diplomático kree (¿?) y que también está ahí para proteger las instalaciones, pero justo cuando está hablando con Rick es infectado por alguien, descontrolado y transformado en una bestia enorme (bueno, controlado por otro) ataca a Rick y a los Fantastic Four (bueno "Three").

 En fin, tras la batalla Mahr Vehl es interrogado y les dice que él había sido infectado y no controlaba sus actos, poco después llega Sue y descubrimos que Reed Richards es quien está detrás de todos los actos.

In this other trilogy (three parts by BM Bendis and Rafa Sandoval). In these three miniseries (more or less) Bendis uses all the characters that have lost their own comic (Ultimatum did it, Fantastic Four) or the ones who had not been used lately (Rick Jones, Spider-woman, Mahr Vehl, Fury, etc.) and Reed Richards becomes the new super villain of the Ultimate universe.

I will talk about to Ultimate Mystery, but to summarize in Ultimate Enemy Reed Richards disappear and the heroes are attacked by strange aliens. Also Ben Grimm declares his love for Sue. It looks that Ben is going to die but he apparently was in some state of "cocoon" before developing his powers, which are basically the same but without the rocks.

Rick Jones y el Capitán Marvel

In Ultimate Mystery Mahr Vehl is sent to protect the Pegasus Project (the facilities where Shield keeps all the things of extraterrestrial, magical or indeterminate origin) where he meets Wendell Vaughn (Quasar in the 616). Shortly after Rick Jones appears there (in this universe the Watchers gave him powers and he calls himself Nova, although it is good to see these old fellows in this universe together even without the nega-bands), the Watchers said that he had to go there to avoid the destruction. Mahr Vehl says that he is the official protector of Earth for the collective diplomatic kree (Since when?) and he is also there to protect the facilities, but just as he is talking to Rick is talking he is infected and he is transformed into a huge and wild beast and attacks Rick and the Fantastic Four (well "Three").

  

Finally, after the battle Mahr Vehl is interrogated and he tells them that he had been infected and he did not control his actions, shortly after Sue discovers that Reed Richards is behind all these actions.

Ultimate Doom.- 

Principalmente en esta última parte todos se enfrentan a Reed Richards y le vencen (al final también ayudan los Ultimates y el Doctor Octopus). Mainly in this last part they all face and defeat Reed Richards (at the end also help the Ultimates and Doctor Octopus).

Ultimate Captain Marvel.-

Dudo mucho que el personaje vaya a evolucionar y desarrollarse más, y dudo más aún que se vaya a transformar en algo similar a su traje rojo y azul (menos hablar de la consciencia cósmico o el ser protector del universo). Además, algunos de sus principales villanos ya que han sido utilizados en Ultimate Fantastic Four y dudo mucho que se enfrente a su némesis del Universo 616: Thanos, ni tampoco a Ronan el acusador (que ni es un kree en este universo). No obstante aún sigue habiendo una Inteligencia Suprema Kree, aunque dudo que se exploren los temas cósmicos en este Universo. I doubt that the character will evolve and develop further, and I doubt even more that he will be transformed or have the red and blue suit (and I guess that it will be impossible to see the cosmic awareness or to see him as protector of the universe). In addition, some of his main villains were used in Ultimate Fantastic Four and I doubt that he will face his nemesis of the 616: Thanos (and Ronan the Accuser is not even a Kree in this universe). However there are still a Kree Supreme Intelligence, but I do not think that the cosmic themes will be explored in this universe.
